A Brief History.
The land was obtained from a Mr. Grey in 1853.
During the following 2 years local farmers and businessmen gave their workers time off to collect and carry, by horse and cart, stone from Doddington Quarry ( approximately 5.5 miles away.)
The building was completed in 1855.
During the Second World War the Ministry of Food took over the building for storing sugar and dried foods.
When the Ministry vacated the building in 1945  the church was left in a state which required redecoration
and internal repair.
The imposing building has recently had a new roof, funded through grants and donations from the Church membership and local community.

Milfield Methodist Church is at the heart of the rural village of Milfield on the A697 approximately
5.8 miles from Wooler and 6.9 miles from  Cornhill on Tweed.
The Church itself is one of the most prominent buildings in the village and is quite easy to locate.
The Church hosts regular events including Coffee Mornings and Luncheons.
